By humankind deodorant review5/5/2023 ![]() I saw an ad today for By Humankind and was intrigued. It was also very thin and liquidy feeling. However I found it really ineffective even after using for a week to let my body “get used to it.” I had to apply 3-4 times a day. I once tried Myro which has no baking soda, and I liked the idea of a refillable container to cut down on plastic waste. However, I have also had issues with inconsistencies in their product, and bad customer service, so I have been on the lookout for something else. Other times it’s totally fine and I find it very effective in combating odor. It might be irritation from shaving but I’m not sure. For the most part it’s fine now, and I love the scent, but I have certain times where it really irritates my underarms. I switched to Schmidt’s about a year ago and had some issues with tenderness and lumps at the beginning that I attributed to my body getting used to sweating again, and probably getting rid of the aluminum. It hasn’t happened to my stick yet, but I imagine I will prefer a worn down paper tube than the sharp edges of plastic cartridges. Was curious if anyone has tried the “by Humankind” aluminum free deodorant? I currently use Schmidt’s, and have tried Myro. Remember push pops? Yeah, it’s basically the same concept except natural deodorant instead of delicious sugary ice cream.īetter yet, I love how PAPR owns the fact that the paper packaging might get greasy and worn down. The thing that really sets PAPR apart is its Forest Stewardship Council certified paper packaging. Check out some of my other reviews to compare: In terms of performance, this is one of the best natural deodorants I’ve tried. She said it smells great and holds up fine, although she mentioned some smearage. ![]() I also had my sister in law try the From Dusk Till Dawn scent featuring Bergamot and Lemongrass. I’m using it every day and it just keeps coming and coming - it’s like the magician’s scarf of deodorants. This stuff really holds up and it smells wonderful.Īnd, there seems to be no end to this deodorant. That’s basically the highest compliment I can give a deodorant. I’ve been using PAPR Coastal Forests Cedarwood and Cypress deodorant for nearly a month, and my wife hasn’t thrown me in the shower once. And there’s no quicker route to all-consuming self-consciousness than catching a whiff of your own B.O. Between playing softball, running my dog, and occasionally summiting mountains, I’m a relatively active person. They also choose not to test these ingredients on animals and got PETA to certify their efforts.įrankly, not all natural deodorants work, at least for me. Instead, it uses natural ingredients like baking soda, coconut oil, shea butter and essential oils. And PAPR goes out of its way to avoid toxic compounds. That’s not to mention the unseen issues during animal testing, or on environment and water supply. There is evidence that these substances contribute to “gene instability,” tumor growth, asthma, reproductive impairment, and allergic reactions. According to TIME, there are five toxic ingredients to watch out for in deodorant: Why Natural Deodorant?Īs a guy, deodorant is one of the few things I rub on my body every day. But, I think I may have found something worthwhile in Paper Cosmetic’s vegan deodorants. There’s been some smelly days weeks and more than a few packaging let downs. (Despite what Old Spice believes, I have no desire to smell like “Krakengaard”).įinding a natural deodorant that checks all these boxes hasn’t been fun. You know, a pleasant aroma that actually exists in the world. ![]() Oh, and I want a nice, natural scent that my wife and I both enjoy. Look, I’ll pay good money for a natural deodorant that has the following qualities: This article may contain affiliate links.
